From Idea to Realization: How to Plan and Develop a Research Proposal

Target Group

Postdocs and advanced doctoral candidates in the last year of their doctoral studies.

This step by step the workshop will focus on how to plan and develop a research proposal. Topics covered range from identifying appropriate funding to central aspects of successful proposal writing (research focus, originality, impact upon research field, feasibility and innovation, your own project-related contributions, collaboration, timeline, workplan, resources, budget, style and presentation).

The goal of this workshop is to identify and explain the different elements involved in drawing up a proposal for research funding. We provide young researchers with a basic understanding of accessing appropriate funding and on how to prepare a competitive proposal. With this course, we want to increase the chances in the highly competitive field of third-party-funding on the path towards an academic career.
