27.09.2024 – Doc Hock – a fest for all doctoral candidates at the University of Freiburg

Presenting the first annual Doc Hock* – a fest for all doctoral candidates at the University of Freiburg!

When: Friday, 27 September from 3:00pm-sundown (ca.7:30pm)

Where: Uni Freiburg Sport Institute (Sandfangweg 4, 79102 Freiburg). Easily reachable by bike or with Tram #1 (Stop: Emil Gött Straße)

What: Food, drink, music, table tennis tournament, games, networking, chilling, and most importantly FUN with other doctoral candidates!

Who: Doctoral candidates from all faculties at the University of Freiburg

Since we are organizing this event for the first time, we kindly ask you to register for the event here if you plan to attend. This will help us to organize enough food and drink for everyone and ensure that the event is a success! There will be two grills (meat / veggie) available to use, so please bring something to grill if you like. We will provide bread, condiments, and salads, and drinks will also be available.

If you would like to participate in our (amateur) table tennis tournament, feel free to bring your own paddle! For those without, we will have some available at the event.

Organized by the Graduate Centre (GraCe) and the Joint Working Committee of the Doctoral Candidate Councils (GAA). Special thanks to the Sport Institute for their support!

*For doctoral candidates not from „Baden“: Hock – short for "Hockete" – sitting together. A Hock is an outdoor festival with beer benches, regional drinks and dishes, and usually with music.
