Well advanced doctoral candidates who want to prepare for their first leadership responsibility.

Essential skills necessary to lead people – both in academia and industry
- Leadership = Vision + Relationships + Tasks
- Your responsibilities as a leader
- Developing and sharing a vision
- 7 styles of leadership – and when to use which one
- Building and managing teams
- Different personality types and how to lead them
- Giving and receiving feedback (lauding and criticising)
- Motivating your team
- Delegating
- Making decisions
- Managing conflict
- Body language and wording – how to be perceived as a leader
Objectives
- You have a clear understanding of what is important to lead
- You know about different styles of leading and when to use which approach
- You know about personality types and how to build a team
- You know what you can improve or change to become a good leader
Methods
Trainer input; individual, partner, and group exercises; case studies; situations of and presentations by participants; group reflection.
Prerequisites
Laptops/PC with camera, microphone & speaker or headset. The seminar will be online. You need an undisturbed space from where you can participate.
