Target group
The online workshop targets doctoral researchers, who aim to improve their decision-making skills.
Content
Effective decision-making empowers you to make optimal use of your resources and to achieve your goals. This course offers ways to systematically reflect on your strengths and weaknesses in decision-making processes. You will be equipped with new experiences and tools for more effective decision-making.

Objectives
Participants of this course will
- be aware of the conditions for good decision making
- have learnt about and applied tools for effective decision making
- have had the opportunity to use their own real-life examples to test these tools
- have had the opportunity to expand their professional network by exchanging with peers
Methods
Prior to course: Fill out survey on personal interests and goals; personality test.
DAY 1:
- Getting to know each other by using our intuition, an important element for decision-making
- Exploring the decision-making process: what does it take for a “good decision”?
- Identifying bottlenecks in decision making
- Outlook on tools for decision making
- Get to know yourself better as a basis for a good decision: discussion of personality test results, using the three worlds model, story telling
- Outlook on second day, feedback, questions, opportunity for personal consultations with trainer.
DAY 2:
- Exploring and testing further decision-making tools. Select the tools that are most rel-evant to you e.g. the decision matrix, the Affect Balance, communication tools, NLP time-line.
- Market Place to exchange on further strategies and tools
- Feedback and participants sharing main lessons learnt.

Laptops/PC with camera, microphone & speaker or headset.
