Marie-Skłodowska-Curie-Actions (MSCA)

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships

Marie Skłodowska Curie Action  (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships fund research projects by experienced scientists at research institutions inside and outside Europe. They are divided into European Postdoctoral Fellowships and Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. Researchers with a doctoral degree and a maximum of 8 years of full-time post-graduate experience at the time of submission deadline are eligible to apply.

The mobility rule applies to both lines. Researchers may not have lived or worked in the host institution's country for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the submission deadline (for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships, the reference is the host institution of the "outgoing phase").

Open ERC Call for proposals

ERC Proof of Concept Grants

The ERC Proof of Concept Grant is a complementary grant to the ERC Research Grants. It is aimed at researchers who already hold an ERC grant and would like to pre-commercialise a research result from their current or recently completed project (completed max. 1 year ago). Up to 150,000 EUR can be requested per project for a duration of max. 18 months. Deadline: 17.09.2024.

Open EIC proposals

Pathfinder Challenges

The EIC Pathfinder Challenges aim to fund innovative technical solutions and pioneering research directions in six predefined thematic areas with up to EUR 4 million per project. In each thematic area (Challenge), a Programme Manager of the European Commission will create a portfolio of the realised projects and align it with the Challenge's objective. The challenges in the 2024 work programme are:

• Solar-to-X devices for the decentralized prosumption of renewable fuels, chemicals and materials as climate change mitigation pathway
• Towards cement and concrete as a carbon sink
• Nature inspired alternatives for food packaging and films for agriculture
• Nanoelectronics for energy-efficient smart edge devices
• Strengthening the sustainability and resilience of EU space infrastructure

Transition Open

With the EIC Transition funding instrument, results from a previous Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe project are to be further developed and geared towards market maturity. The aim is to develop both the technology and the business concept and ultimately achieve a Technology Readiness Level of 5 to 6. The individual projects are funded in the range of EUR 0.5 to 2.5 million and have a project duration of 1 to 3 years.
