25.05.2023 – MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships Masterclass

The EU Offices of the University of Freiburg and of the Faculty of Medicine are launching a Master class for those interested in applying for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2023. The event will be a one-day web-based seminar.

The Master class includes, among other things, a brief introduction to the MSC Actions with a focus on Postdoctoral Fellowships, a presentation on how to prepare a successful proposal and a successful applicant from the last MSCA call will report on her experience. Furthermore, there will be a presentation from an evaluator's point of view.

To take part in the Master class, you will need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • You have completed or will complete a PhD (awarded ≤ 8 years before the call deadline: 13 September 2023)
  • To apply for the Global Fellowship (GF): You will be able to pursue your research career outside of Europe but are bound by a 1-year mandatory return phase to University of Freiburg, you must be a national or long-term resident (5 consecutive years) of an EU member state or Associated Country
  • To apply for the European Fellowship (EF): You have moved from an EU member state or from a Third Country to Germany and have lived or worked here for not more than 12 months in the last three years immediately before the call deadline (13 September 2023)
  • An experienced researcher from the University of Freiburg has agreed to support your project and to supervise you

 

The Master class will take place online on 25 May 2023 and will take up to four hours.

Please register until 18 May 2023 by sending an email to including your CV and a short note from your supervisor indicating their willingness to support your project.

Your registration status will be confirmed by 22 May 2023 including an invitation link to the Master class.

 

Short information about the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship

  • Funding for living allowance, contribution to research and travel costs, management and overhead
  • Conducting a “free choice” research project at host institution
  • Employment at the host institution for the duration of the project (EF: 1 – 2 years, GF: 2 – 3 years)
  • Call Deadline: 13 September 2023
  • Evaluation: one step
  • Results: 5 month after deadline (February 2024)
  • If successful: Project Start 3 month after information
