Counseling for Doctoral Candidates

Do you plan to pursue a doctorate at the University of Freiburg? Would you like to get support for your decision-making process? Are you already a doctoral candidate and have questions concerning doctoral studies?

We support you with our counseling service. To receive an appointment, please send us an email or call and let us know what you wish to discuss (see contact). The conversations are strictly confidential. The service is free of charge.

Medical students should contact the doctoral studies office of the Faculty of Medicine. If you have any questions related to the doctoral degree regulations, please contact your faculty.

The staff council advises doctoral candidates who are employees at the University of Freiburg. This includes questions related to the employment contract, the collective bargaining and labor laws, pay scale grouping, as well as questions about parental leave and child care. You are welcome to make an appointment via or call +49 (0)761 203-6900.

For non-academic matters surrounding your stay in Freiburg, please contact the Welcome Service.
